I love our evenings. After dinner and some reading, if time allows, Matt gives the kids a bath, I either troll the internet or get some little things done, and then we jammy the kids up before bedtime. Matt has always given the kids their baths as much as possible, he does a great job teaching them different things and spending time with them as they get clean. I love post bath time, clean kids, damp hair, and adorable jammies. The girls have their own little customs for post bath time with Matt, he wraps them up like a taquito (arms outside of the towel when wrapped up) or a burrito (arms in) and does a little dance with them. He will bring them to me, one by one, for a bite of "MacKenzie Burrito" or "Keegan Taquito" as they squeal and shriek, trying to get away. He then roughhouses with them a bit before moving things along to bed. Sometimes they get a story in bed, but they always get prayers and songs. We each have our own songs we sing to them and Matt usually makes up little dances to go with it.
My favorite part of bedtime is this...
The girls are entranced with the "Epilogue" to Les Miserables. I pull it up on YouTube and we watch it several times a week. It is their favorite lullaby for me to sing them and we can sometimes catch MacKenzie singing a fair amount of it in the car or when she is playing by herself. Keegan will request it over and over again and will raise up her arms to go with different parts of the song. It's funny that they latched on to this song, but there are worse songs out there to listen to before bed...
